Schinus terebinthifolius also called Pink pepper or Brazilian pepper is a shrub and is found in many Mediterranean countries.
The pink pepper leaf is feathered and oblong. The plant is evergreen in the winter.
In April / May, the Schinus flowers terebinthifolius with strongly scented cream-colored flowers that clump together in bunches.
After flowering, the pink pepper tree starts to produce fruit that hangs in decorative clusters and has a diameter of approximately 5-10 mm.

If the striking fruits / berries are colored pink, they can be used.
They taste sweet and very aromatic and are great for use in the kitchen. The dried grains are also often mixed with white, black and white peppercorns, so the well-known 4 seasons pepper is obtained.
The Schinus terebinthifolius is fairly drought tolerant.
This Mediterranean plant should best be kept as a tub plant and loves a lot of sun.
The pink pepper has a high ornamental value and an exotic appearance, is perfect as a tub plant.

If it becomes too large, the Schinus terebinthifolius can be pruned at will in spring.
In the wild, the Schinus terebinthifolius can grow to 8 to 10 meters high without pruning.
Also the stem and bark of older plants is very attractive, the crown grows reasonably densely eventually.
Wintering at a temperature above the freezing point is sufficient, but it is preferable to overwinter the Schinus terebinthifolius above the freezing point and not too dark.
Winter hardiness zone 10a (0ºC).
