Clerodendrum trichotomum or peanut tree tree is a very special little tree or large bush. This species is not very big, up to 6 meters without pruning, and also in a smaller garden is right to its right.
The tree originates from China and Japan and is the only Clerodendrum species that is well-tempered in our climate.
The name of peanut tree is thanks to the blue / green leaf that smells of peanut butter if it is crushed.
The leaf is oblong, above the sphere and under the spine, looks like that of the catalpa in shape.

From July the first star-shaped white flowers will appear with a fresh pink star-shaped calyx, which also smells delicious. The bloom continues until September.
The white flowers also make for blue / gray berries standing in the middle of the bright red / pink calyx.
This is a beautiful sight, especially because the leaf in October / November falls slowly from the tree and this inflorescence lasts until last.

The leaf discolored in autumn to yellow and in winter the tree loses its leaf. If you want to prune the Clerodendrum trichotomum to keep it in the desired size then that's not a problem.
Prune the plant immediately after the winter in the desired model. On the new wood the same season will appear flowers again.
