Calycanthus floridus is also called a spice tree. The winter hard shrub is medium sized and is also suitable for the slightly smaller garden.
A sunny to light shady place prefers this heester.
The leaf is on the top shiny green and on the underside is slightly hairy.
Calycanthus floridus flourishes most of all Calycanthus species.

In the month of June, the first buds begin to emerge and bright red to brown / red beautifully shaped star-shaped flowers. The flowers are about 5 cm tall. Certainly when the bush is full of flowers it is a spectacular sight.

These flowers smell like melon, but also when you brush the wood, a sweet spicy melon flavor is released. This flower champion will continue until September.
The total height of the bush is between 150 and 250 cm and can be pruned if necessary.
This graceful heester has no trouble with our winters.
