Carica Papaya or Papaya is a fairly fast growing little tree. The papaya is also called the boommeloen.
The papaya leaf is cut in hand-shaped and fresh green in color. The plant is quite spectacular and an easy cultivation plant.

The Carica Papaya gets great fruits up to 20/25 cm elongated fruits that are very good edible, the very sweet flesh tastes like melon and is sweeter than the Babaco Papaya.
The fruits are yellow in color with some green spots when they are ripe. The pulp of a mature papaya is yellow to orange colored.
They contain a lot of vitamins A and C and are very healthy. Half a papaya already has enough vitamin C for one adult a day.
The fruits can get well in our summers. Fruits are usually ripe in August / September. The plant is leafy losing in winter if this cools winter.
If the papaya is in a greenhouse or greenhouse, it stays in leaf and yields fruit from June to October.

The Carica Papaya gets small cream of white flowers from which the poppy fruit grows during the season.
In the full soil the plant will be 4 to 6 meters. This height is not reached in a tub.
Should the papaya become too big, just cut the stem at the desired height.
Just below the pruning wound, the Carica Papaya will reappear, so you can keep the plant at the desired height.
In addition, the plant is overwintering in a non-dark place at a temperature above + 10º / + 12ºC.
