Maclura pomifera Cannonball, also called Osage thorn and Osage orange or Cannonball, is a mulberry family plant. These plants, originally from North America, were in the area where the Osage Indians were staying.

The Cannonball is a thornless variety whose very decorative fruits can weigh up to more than 1 kilogram. The fruits are light green in color and have a special shape that resembles a brain. Also called Monkey Brains. The fruits are purely decorative, they are not toxic, but they are also not tasty.

The tree grows with beautiful curved branches and with a full crown and a very nicely shaped trunk. The wood of the tree is used for various purposes because it is very hard wood.
The bark is brown / orange in color. The white flowers grow in clusters from mid-May. The leaves are green and shiny, the leaves turn beautiful yellow and orange in the fall.
