Actinidia deliciosa Jenny is also counted as Actinidia chinensis. This kiwi is monoecious and is self-pollinating.
Normally, kiwi plants are dioecious and for fertilization one should have a male and female plant (dioecious). Otherwise it does not come to fruit set.
This is, however, the case with the Actinidia deliciosa Jenny, the fruits are slightly smaller than those of the dioecious species. Kiwis only give fruit from the age of 3 years.

This kiwi plant has no problems with our climate. The white / yellow blossom eventually makes way for the young kiwi fruit.
These are ripe in October and can then be picked.
Waiting for as long as possible (late October / early November just before the first frost) and delicious sweet kiwis are the result.
Kiwis are packed with vitamin C and except that they are very healthy, the plant gives a tropical look to every garden.

A kiwi is a good climber and does well against a wall, fence or pergola.
Annual (light) pruning is sometimes necessary to slow down the hard growth and get a better fruit set.
The leaves are fresh green in color and have a felt layer.
