Myrtus communis Microphylla is a closely branched and green-lasting shrub. The bush blooms in the summer and is then occupied with light-scented white flowers that grow about 2 cm.
After the bloom, the berries with a diameter of 7 mm are purple.
The Myrtle tree occurs in the countries around the Mediterranean and grows in dry places.

Plant can be kept well in a tub and grows quite slowly. Preferably in the light shade or full sun.
The Myrtus communis is used for the perfume, which is used for the leaf, flowers and fruits.
Myrtenol is also extracted from this plant, which is used as an anti-cure agent.
After crushing of the leaf, an aromatic odor is released. The plant has a very nice leaf and is winter green but moderately hardy.
