Kennedia nigricans is a very special subtropical evergreen creeper (Black coral pea or black coral bean).
The leaf of the black coral bean is dark green and becomes up to 8 cm long.
This subtropical climbing plant often blooms twice, namely in the spring from May to the end of June and in the late summer from August to September.

The beautiful black flowers have a bright yellow core and become about 3 to 4 cm long.
This powerful climbing plant can be cut back if it is too large.
The Kennedia nigricans does need a climbing aid, is also used as ground cover.
Furthermore, the Kennedia nigricans prefers in the full sun for an exuberant bloom and is an easy container.

If the plant grows too large, it can simply be pruned after flowering.
This tub plant does not make any further demands on the soil type. Lightly fertilize during the spring every month until the end of the summer.
Winter hardiness zone 12 (+ 6ºC).
