The Agapanthus africanus Dr. Brouwer is one of the many species of Agapanthus that originate from South Africa. It is a very easy plant that does not require separate requirements.
A place in the full sun on your terrace and you get beautiful bright blue inflorescences in return. This African lily needs to be repotted about every 3 years.
If it becomes too large, you can divide it by tearing.

This Agapanthus is 40/60 cm high and the flower stems protrude above the green foliage with a length of 60/80 cm.
During the wintering in a pot hardly watering.
Only in the spring from mid-April to bring the cockpit out again. From this period on, the Cape Lily can receive a small donation every three weeks until September.

In the ground, the Agapanthus africanus dr. Brewer to keep well, provided that in the winter only a layer of mulch or peat is sprinkled over the plant. This way the frost can not enter the ground and the plant will start sprouting again in April.
This is one of the few Agapanthus species for use in the open ground and a beautiful border plant.
