Poliomintha longiflora also called Mexican oregano. Originally from South West America and Mexico, it is a hardy oregano.
The leaves of this rosemary are beneficial and have a high anti-oxidant effect.
Besides the fact that the leaf has a beneficial effect, it is also very aromatic.
A great plant to use in the kitchen for dishes and has a spicier taste of ordinary oregano or rosemary. A really delicious addition to, for example, Mexican pozole soup and Mediterranean fish soup.
In summer the plant blooms with fairly large flowers, a white color on the top and the petal is light pink to lilac-pink. You can enjoy the intense bloom until autumn. Like to be visited by bees.
The plant likes to be in a warm place and preferably not too wet.
In a normal winter, the plant is also evergreen.
If it freezes very hard, they will lose the leaves and it is better to provide them with a mulch layer. Is an ideal container plant and very easy to keep.
Plants grow to a maximum height of 40-50 cm and can be pruned well. After this they sprout again from the stems that have been left behind.
Winter hardiness zone 8a (-10ºC).
