Jubaea chilensis or Chilean wine palm comes from Chile and is used, among other things, for making palm wine. The wine from which the wine is made is extracted from the stem. Because of this the Jubaea chilensis is almost threatened with extinction and this is no longer allowed.

This palm has now more or less become a national sanctuary in Chile. An adult Jubaea chilensis gets in its natural habitat one of the thickest strains of all palms, these can reach a diameter of 180 cm.
The Chilipalm also takes pleasure in almost all types of soil and is therefore very easy to plant as a solitary in a garden. He likes to be in the sun, but that's no good.

This palm tree can withstand the drought, but it does better if it just gets regular water and nutrition. The fruits are 2.5 cm in size, yellow / orange in color and edible. The taste of this is very much like coconut.
The palm grows in shrubbery with beautiful feather leaves that are quite hard and do not blow in the wind.

In the beginning this palm tree makes a tuber that grows thicker in size, then grows in height and makes the trunk.
It is one of the most beautiful and hardest species of the feather palm trees.
