Musa acuminata Dwarf Cavendish is a beautiful banana plant that stays relatively small and produces delicious fruit. This is our favorite banana variety and very easy to take care of.
This banana belongs to the family of the Musa acuminata and is named after William Cavendish (6th Count of Devonshire) who took this banana to Europe and successfully increased from its boxes in England.
The leaf is green and occupied with a beautiful pattern of purpleish spots, however, when the banana is grown mature, the new leaf shades into fresh green and disappears the purple spots.
The Musa acuminata Dwarf Cavendish distinguishes itself by its height, this species rises up to 200 cm high, where other bananas from this family grow comfortably to more than 5 meters high.

This banana species also gives bananas that are very tasty. This species is one of the most important clones for the fruit cultivation of, among other things, bananas in the supermarket.
Before bananas appear, there is a large flower on the banana plant, which is purple in color with white flowers. When the flowers have flowed out, bananas appear to grow up to 25 cm. Plants of 2 years old develop flowers and afterwards fruits.

These are, as mentioned before, edible and tastes deliciously sweet. The color of the shell is deep yellow and it is slightly thinner than that of the ordinary banana from the store.
The Musa acuminata Dwarf Cavendish quickly makes new frogs, because after the banana has flowed and yielded it will die. The new foals then grow up into a new adult plant.

Keep the banana above + 6ºC (ideal is minimum + 10ºC) and preferably it is as sunny as possible.
The banana may stand outside on your terrace in the summer, for example, the warmer and sunny the better.
Also, as a houseplant, this kind makes it great, provide enough light. When dispatching the bananas as a package, it is possible that we are cutting back the leafs of the bananas. These grow back very quickly.  
Keep the soil lightly wet and fertilize every two weeks with cowshed or Houseplant focus .
