The Fargesia angustissima also known as Borinda angustissima.
This beautiful full and compact bamboo gets stalks of approximately 2 cm diameter. In the first instance, the young culms are still blue in color, but as they get older, this turns to green, older culms turn to yellow.
The growth of the culms is slightly slanted in the beginning and further less in the growth process to almost perpendicular. The crowns are slightly over, this bamboo tolerates pruning.
The leaf of this bamboo is fine and narrow and elongated. The foliage is thick and closed, ideal for, for example, blinding the fence or a wall.
In the winter, the Borinda angustissima also stays green. After a couple of years it is a nice full compact bamboo forest with overhanging stems.
Also, this bamboo does not proliferate and no root limiter is needed.
Winter hardiness zone 7a (-18ºC).
