Ficus carica Bornholm fig tree can be kept well in our climate. This species is from Denmark and is very beneficial.
This fig species is actually the better breed for our climate. She gets pretty big fruits and pretty dark red meat.
The fruits of the Bornholm fig tree ripen off in August and are deliciously sweet to eat, but also for jam, chutney etc.
Fig trees can be kept in a tub as well as in the ground floor.

Pruning of the bush takes place in spring, then one dots out dead ends to one knot. In summer, the tops of young shoots are cut to 5-6 leaves.
Ensure an open bush that the light can reach the stonework everywhere. Present green fruits for the invasion of winter can be picked.
Young plants still protect in winter until they have a stem cross section of at least 3 cm.

Staat nu voor het derde jaar en hebben afgelopen jaar exceptioneel veel vruchten geplukt, heeft ook mooi blad. na de winter gaan we hem wat snoeien want ze groeien hard.
