Bouteloua gracilis (family: Poaceae) has a fresh green-colored leaf which is quite nice.
The very special seedlings of this prairie grass grow at right angles to the flowering plants and are fine to process in dry bouquets, then pick them up in July / August when they are half open.
In addition, this grassy area is more sunny, the warmer the place the better it makes it desirable.
The very rich flowering of the plant runs from July, August to Autumn. The color of the blooms in summer is green and violet until brown in autumn.

For planting you can only 7-9 plants per square meter. This grass type does not require soil types and can be very dry against drought. Where other plants are heading, the Bouteloua gracilis grows without problems.
Ideal for processing in a rock garden to apply some accents.
The plants are about 40/50 cm high and are well winterhard.
In March you can cut back the dense foliage from the plant to the ground. The plant starts again in April.
